W.Ala. towns eyeing legal alcohol sales - By Jason Morton Staff Writer

Across West Alabama, small towns in historically dry counties are considering the possibility of legalizing the sale of alcohol. Spurring the movement is a 2009 state law that allows towns with as few as 1,000 people to set alcoholic beverage referendums. The minimum previously was 7,000.
